Read on, read on... sorry about the bad layout, from time to time the blog goes funny. Try downloading FireFox to fix any problems with viewing the site. I keep the blog to maintain memories I'm likely to forget and share them with the world. Typing stuff is also easier than writing with a pen and saves paper:) You can select which blog subject I've written under on the left, although most things will be Thoughts and Feelings or Rant (its too easy to rant about stuff)

Neighbours... Channel 5 now has Neeeeiighbours. Neighbours have 'moved home' etc etc

Go BBC3?
No?
Fine, BBC will drop you if you bid too much?
No?
Then let Five buy your rights

Sound about right. Move in the steps of Home and Away.

If you've been to Ireland, or somewhere else that imports Neighbours you'll know what its like to have you favourite soap cut off midway by an advert break.

Now, since it was bought by the Beeb in 1986 its been moved to a commercial station.

Why should I care though, its just a stupid Aussie soap that you only watch because its on while you're having your tea.

But Neighbours is more than that to me. Before I was borne, I could hear the theme tune in my mummy's tummy, then later in my early life (oxymoron?) I sung along to the tune as a baba.
Later, in early education, when it was just half days for me, I'd be home in time for Neighbours at lunchtime. I saw Harold 'die.' I saw him come back. Grew up with the Kennedy kids and Toadie. Sigh. Watched the storylines go a bit bad too.

Yus indeed, my history of Neighbours goes as far back as Harold's receding hairline.

Fremantle seem to think they can outprice BBC even though their storylines and characters are nowhere as good as the golden years...

Only I don't feel I can comment on their move to Five. Neighbours is bought with the money from TV licenses, which I don't pay in this house.

Still. What will be on between the One o'Clock New and Doctors?

Let's let the Guardian know!
