A little somethin' somethin' for free. Consumables.
I can't believe the consumerist society we live in.
My belief is that if I'm going to invest good money in something, it means I'm going to indulge in it.
So if I'm going to buy something expensive I want to get the most of it.
Consider - if I see a pair of jeans I like, that cost a bit more than I'd normally pay, I'm wearing those jeans as much as I can!
Some people I know buy a clothes nearly every, wear them a few times then buy more. Why? Because we have too many consumables in this world. We can feed and clothe the world several times over if we just shared.
Part I:
Well, let me say, I was sickened to see the staff at **a coffee chain** (trying to avoid libel!) clear the shelves of their refrigerators into bin bags as they were closing. Paninis and toasties, all with a day or two left until expiration all being thrown in a bag, fully packaged. They can't even decompose that way.
Well I had to speak up didn't I? I say I, I was in fact with Mateo and Chubby. We had to speak up.
Walked out of the place with two - TWO bin bags of paninies and toasties, some with two days left of shelf life.
At home, we had a damn feast for dinner!
30-odd cheese melts are in our fridge. Breakfast, lunch and tea. SORTED.
For the record, at £2.85 x 30 = £85.50's worth of sarnies!
Student to the max!
I implore all who read this to go to coffee chains at closing time and ask, just ask them what they're doing with their sandwiches/toasties at the end of the day. If they're chucking them, rescue them for being disposed, because unlike Benjy's who give their sandwiches to the homeless at the end of the day, they're not going anywhere except the bin. And that's a waste.
Hear me now.
Part II:
For some of us, right, it's been a while!
Well I was going through the old, ahem, condom selection in my 'nookie box' and realised that a fair few of my stash have expired!
So I've had to dispose of these consumables. It's truly heartbreaking that they couldn't have been used for better means, but hey, from what's been learned to day - when things pass their expiry dates, they have to be thrown away.
Around the place are condoms lying about after being snapped like elastic bands.
Nice.
Remember guys, make the most of your consumables. They're made for consuming, sure enough, but consume them well!
