Read on, read on... sorry about the bad layout, from time to time the blog goes funny. Try downloading FireFox to fix any problems with viewing the site. I keep the blog to maintain memories I'm likely to forget and share them with the world. Typing stuff is also easier than writing with a pen and saves paper:) You can select which blog subject I've written under on the left, although most things will be Thoughts and Feelings or Rant (its too easy to rant about stuff)

Road To The World Cup

Oh dear England do have it bad!
The road to the World Cup is the most dramatic I've lived to watch yet.

What the hell is it about England's quest this year round that it has to be so dramatic?
I oft wonder what it's like to support another team sometimes.

Should I be patriotic because I bought England ankle socks at JJB? No, not really, they were only £3 for 6. With that in mind, its okay if criticise England's team.

I just can't believe the drama, as well as the attitude to the World Cup the squad takes.
Rooney was worrying. It's a miracle he got back in shape so quick. He got mad when Sven took him off early against Sweden, but proved his worth against Ecuador (whew!)
Owen is buggered. What bad luck, it really drowns one's hopes when stuff like that happens.
Walcott - who? Haven't seen him on the pitch once, and after all that media hype!
Sven just can't decide on one formation and keep it. This is of concern because both the Theo Walcott and formation trials should have taken place in the qualifying and friendly matches.

Matchwise we've been fortunate... In a way. Our group wasn't too threatening, apart from Sweden. That long-time undefeated thing for them should have been settled, our defence against Sweden's second goal exposed a huge gap in England's defending tactics, but we didn't have to play Germany!
So Ecuador is ok, 1-0 to us. Next round: Portugal... Ooh dear- no, wait, a weakened Portugal with fewer players because of suspensions and injury. Hmm.

But wait a bit.
Look at the goals England scored. Nice, no doubt. Cole's was breathtaking, Beckham's silenced critics and what have you. But we don't score enough! 1-0 in the last 16 is NOT good enough!
Bad enough the Sven-Scolari rivalry going on since 2002 (when Scolari coached Brazil), but Portugal, which I don't feel I can watch!
Should England overcome this challenge, yes they will have proven themselves worthy BUT, in my mind... we're still far off from being Argentina.

Agh. C'mon England. Just... Just get it over with?
