Read on, read on... sorry about the bad layout, from time to time the blog goes funny. Try downloading FireFox to fix any problems with viewing the site. I keep the blog to maintain memories I'm likely to forget and share them with the world. Typing stuff is also easier than writing with a pen and saves paper:) You can select which blog subject I've written under on the left, although most things will be Thoughts and Feelings or Rant (its too easy to rant about stuff)

"La Sensazione" Top show >> lost phone

Hmm, I wanted to put off blogging for a while coz I can't seem to get over the loss of my phone. Got nothing to blog off when I'm on the move...

Getting to the point, I've done the June show and it was fucking brilliant!
I've never done two nights in a row, and I thought it would be devastating on my health. Surprisingly, it wasn't.

After a long week of rehearsals, dress rehearsals, tech rehearsals, final rehearsals and then the big shows, it wasn't so bad.

Before the first show, I went to get the programme photocopied. I didn't know they would be done for me when I got in, and spent £118 getting them photocopied. I should be reimbursed. I hope. That's a lot of money. Don't go KallKwik for photocopies.

Thursday's show went fine, although I was a little unsure about my salsa number, which I did a bit quick, from what I recall. It was the night Auntie Kath and Martin came to watch me so I gave it my all.
Mostly all of my steps were fine, except where I jumped two counts before I should have in "Lose Control" at the end. Everyone saw it because I was at the front, and I discreetly stuck my middle finger up at them lol
.

The second night looked like it would be a farce, because I had an exam that morning. I woke up and arrived to my exam in good time (15 minutes early!) but by the time I had prepared myself when I got home it was 3pm. I thought I'd have a quick nap to catch up on my six-hour sleep from the night before but ended up sleeping through until 5pm (need to be at the show by 5:30-6pm)
Jumped straight into the shower to freshen up and leave, crammed all my costumes and drinks into my bag and when I get to the busstop, there's traffic all the way up to the A316. I ask a woman what bus she's been waiting for and how long.
"290. I've been here an hour."
Fuck. Emergency plan, I got a 490 to Feltham and got a train to Staines, hauled my damn costume bag with me and waited for a lift (thanks ladies x)

Luckily the show had been delayed for about another half hour, so I did a quick change and went on stage. The fucking sound technician messed up the audio cues. So the girls went on before a blackout, then he didn't restart it, so when he turned it back up, it was 20 seconds in! Turned wrong way in opening dance. And there wasn't enough room for me to stay in a perfect line, so I stepped back a little. Dancing into a wing curtain here!
Next drama is the rapping number never turned up on time. They were act number three, and nowhere in site. Big stress about what to do, but we just do without and move onto the next dance.

So for the second night, I rushed into my salsa outfit. Tonight, got a brilliant reaction as they crowd gasped (yes, gasped!) as I move in fast to kiss my senorita (hey, our lips never touched! I just made it look like they were going to!)
Parents walk in after it. They missed my big number!

To make up for a messed up (not just my opinion) first half, I decided in my mind it was a second half to give your left nut for!
"Diamonds." BAM! Hit 'em hard! "Pump It" (quick change!) give the breakin' all I can and varying as much as I can in the short time I can. J.P. doing "So Sick" even had me swooning. Damn. "Get Ur Freak On/Ghettomusick" - let the girls know the boys run the show. Managed to put every foot right in "Lose Control"

It went sick from then forward. Family loved it. All I need really.
Only at the end, I left my phone in the wings of the stage. Went back on stage. When I came back to get it, it was gone. Called it off someone's phone, straight to answerphone. Turned off, coz I have 30% battery when I started.
Had to get it barred. So I'm missing all my calls until my replacement comes. Hopefully tomorrow. Given that all those at O2's insurance dept. will be calling sick to watch the World Cup, I'm not feeling too optimistic...
